The exceptional full set of 7 original Commission parchment documents of George King, Gent. These detail his progression through the ranks from Ensign to the Honorary Rank of Major General. This important set of Commissions is accompanied by other interesting documents as detailed below.
7 Commissions as follows.
11th Day of January 1864 – Major General in Our Army – Signed and Sealed Victoria
12th Day of January 1858 – Lieutenant-Colonel, 13th Regiment of Foot – Signed and Sealed Victoria
10th Day of February 1857 – Lieutenant-Colonel in Our Army – Signed and Sealed Victoria
10th Day of September 1855 – Major, 13th Regiment of Foot – Signed and Sealed Victoria
2nd Day of December 1842 – Captain, 13th Regiment of Foot – Signed and Sealed Victoria
16th Day of January 1835 – Lieutenant George King, 13th Regiment of Foot – Signed and Sealed William IV
12th Day of April 1831 – Ensign George King, 13th Regiment of Foot – Signed and Sealed William IV
Original Certificate for his Nomination de Chevalier, Ordre Imperiale de la Legion D’Honneur, 21eme Fevrier 1856 to Major George King, 13th Regiment D-Infanterie. This comes with the original letter which accompanied the Certificate from the War Office dated 26th March 1857.
Original Supplement to the London Gazette Monday August 4th 1856 which confirms the French Chevalier award.
Further documents detail his medal group, being the Ghuznee Medal, Jellalabad Medal, Cabool 1842 Medal, Crimea (Sebastopol), Indian Mutiny, Legion D’Honneur, Order of the Mejidie, Turkish Crimea Medal along with a photograph of such medal group.
