Description

Anglo Boer War Queen’s South Africa medal with 3 clasps to 4264 Private Peter Martin, 1st Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.

Peter Martin enlisted at Chichester, West Sussex, in January 1893. He was a 20 year old labourer born Tunbridge Wells, at this time.

He served in India December 194 to June 1899 then after brief home service he served in South Africa February 190 to December 1900. After 3 more years of home service he ended his service after 12 years.

He was awarded the India Medal 1896 with 2 clasps and this was followed by the Queen’s South Africa medal with 3 clasps.
