With Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 clasps named to 3345 L. SERGT T. CRIPPS. 3rd HUSSARS.
His service papers, which are on-line, reveal that he served in India for 2 periods as well a South Africa and home service. He served for 13 years from 1893 to 1906.
He re-enlisted for service in the Great War in 1915 serving ASC Remounts serving briefly in France thus being awarded the British War medal and Victory medal pair.
Thomas Albert Cripps was born in Hadlow, Kent in 1873. He was a clockmaker when he attested in 1893. He married Alice Wood n Bombay. He died 1943 in Tonbridge, Kent.
