Second Opium Wars China War Medal 1856/1860 with Taku Forts 1860 clasp to Enoch Walmsley, Royal Artillery.
Enoch Walmsley appears on the medal roll of the 13th Battery, Royal Artillery under service number 610.

Obituary, death notice appeared in various newspapers stating, as in Leicester Chronicle – Saturday 08 March 1890.
DEATH OF A CRIMEAN VETERAN. A Crimean veteran named Enoch Walmsley has died at Ardwick. He took part in the battles of Alma, Balaclava, and Inkermann, and was present during the whole of the siege of SebastopoL He had a horse shot under him at Balaclava. On the outbreak of the Indian Mutiny he volunteered for service, but was too late to be able to take part in the campaign. He afterwards volunteered for China, and was at the taking of the Taku Forts. For his war services he received three medals and five clasps. He leaves a widow aged sixty-four years.

Enoch Walmsley served in the Crimean War under service number 1809 – He appears on the medal rolls for Crimea as Gunner and Driver, No 4 Co. 12th Battery, R.A. qualifying for the Balaclava, Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol clasps along with the Turkish Crimea medal.

This stunning medal is on the original style, though non-original medal ribbon. With pin bar and on a Bailey decorative ribbon suspender. Condition. Light contact damage and slight edge knocks, claw has been re-affixed.
