The Anglo Boer War medal pair to Private Francis Froud of the 13th and 14th Hussars.

Francis Froud was a 21 year old labourer from Whitechapel, :London, when he attested into the 13th Hussars in Edinburgh 9th January 1890.

He served at Home from 0890 to 1895 then was placed on army reserve from 1895 to 1899. He served in South Africa December 1899 to August 1902 before returning home until discharged in 1902. Total service 12 years 235 days.

14th Hussars Medal for the QSA confirms clasps as does the King’s South Africa medal with 2 clasps.  The roll is annotated 2894 in 13th Hussars. Local No. 40 in 14th Hussars

Medals – Queen’s South Africa medal with clear ghost dates (Transvaal, Driefontein, Paarderberg and Relief of Kimberley clasps) to 2894 Pte. F. FROUD. 14 / Hrs, with King’s South Africa medal (South Africa 1901 and 1902 clasps) to 40 PTE. F. FROUD 14TH HUSSARS.
