The medal – The Queen’s South Africa Medal with clasps Cape Colony and South Africa 1902 named to Lt. Col. F.S.G. Moon. E. Surrey Rgt. . This is his sole entitlement as confirmed on medal roll.
The 3rd Baronet enlisted 4th May 1855. Commissioned Lieutenant, Gazetted 27th May 1873 pp 2589. Captain 4th East Surrey Regt 14th December 1881 Major 4th East Surrey 12th November 1887, Lieutenant Colonel 4th East Surrey 17th June 1893.

May 4, 1855 Birth of Sir Francis Sidney Graham Moon, 3rd Baronet at Fetcham, Surrey. Lived at Ballands Hall, The Street, Fetcham, Surrey. He died January 30th 1911, unmarried, aged 55 and he is buried at St Mary’s, Fetcham. Records show that Lieutenant F. S. G. Moon of the Surrey Regiment was a member of the Bayard Masonic Lodge, 1881.
