The unusual opportunity to acquire the group of six M.I.D. Certificates from the Great War awarded to Major-General Charles Edward Lawrie, C.B. D.S.O.
These MIDs come with a typed biography of Lawrie, a copy of his Obituary (The Times Wednesday April 15th 1953). A copy of his Who’s Who entry. There is also a letter, from the Lord Chamberlain’s Office, confirming the bestowal of the Order of the Bath. 
Lawrie was reportedly also mentioned in despatches from the Egypt and The Sudan (1896 & 1898).
The Great War certificates are dated: 14th January 1914, 13th November 1916, 9th April 1917, 7th November 1917, 7th April 1918 & 21st May 1920.
Some further correspondence to a researcher, a copy of his birth and death certificates are also with these MIDs. An image of his miniature medal group is also present.
