Lot consists – Memorial Plaque (THOMAS MADDOX) and his 1914/15 Star named to 21413 PTE. T. MADDOX. MANCH. R.
Thomas Maddox is Remembered with Honour at the Thiepval Memorial. Poingnantly, there are 138 of his fellow men of the 22nd Manchesters also named on this Memorial who died on the same day – The First of July 1916.
The Memorial Plaque comes with its original protective paper envelope and waxed box envelope. The postal box for his 1914/15 Star, addressed to his wife at Beresford Street, Mosside along with the accompanying letter sent to his widow in 1920. A tribute cap badge is also present. A good quality Memorial Scroll is also present. It remains unclear whether his British War Medal and Victory Medal were ever received by the family.
