Great War British War Medal and Victory Medal pair to Gilbert Jacob, Ox and Bucks Light Infantry.

He was entitled to War Badge number B226646 due to Gun Shot Wound to his right foot dated 27th March 1916.

Having later  returned to the front line Gilbert Jacob was posted Missing (Prisoner of War) 21st March 1918, repatriated 6th January 1919.

Medal roll and Index Card confirm this medal pair. He was renumbered 33462. He served 2/4th, 1/4th and 6th.

Jacob Gilbert was born at Headington, Oxford and he was a 26 year old Market Gardener at Southern Road Nurseries, Headington when he attested 6th December 1915.
