Description

Great War medal pair with a trio of Masonic Brotherhood medals. These Masonic medals include the 5 clasp Duke of Sussex medal. This medal has a gold rim which has the name details engraved around it. There is a gold lunette front to the medal. There is also a named Sunday School medal and  1958 R.M.I.G. Stewards medal.

Ernest Frank Afford was born 18th February 1883 at Offord, St Neots, in the then county of Huntingdonshire. He attested 26th October 1916 and he served 212th Siege Battery. His permanent address is given as The Square, Shrewsbury. He originally served in the Lancashire and Cheshire RGA in 437th Siege Battery (Service number 3152). He landed Boulogne 8th September 1917 and returned to the UK 2nd October 1918.

He was a Gentlemens Outfitter with a Tailors shop in Shrewsbury. He died at Conway, Caernarvonshire in 1966 having lived at Llandudno in retirement.
